Safeguarding Audit 2021-22 Introduction

Welcome to the Section 11 Safeguarding Audit for 2021-22, overseen by the Croydon Safeguarding Children's Partnership (CSCP). The deadline date for submitting the audit is Friday 11th November 2022, 5pm.

Section 11 of the Children Act 2004 places duties on a range of organisations and individuals to ensure their functions, and any services that they contract out to others, are discharged having regard to the need to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.

The audit supports education providers by providing you with a framework to assess yourself, together with additional tools to build an Audit Action Plan and visible RAG Ratings.

    Comments & Action Plan

    Each section has a space for comments, any actions and a completion date. This is for education providers to use, providing you with an action plan to use to implement any necessary improvements as a consequence of completing the audit.

    RAG Ratings

    This is a visual guide to support the Action Plan, enabling education providers to see easily which safeguarding practice areas require improvement. Please note that these RAG assessments are for you only and to help the CSCP and it's partners prioritise any specific projects or training and development that may be required. RAG Criteria are below:

    • Red: 3 or more questions answered 'No' or unable to provide narrative 
    • Amber: 1-2 questions answered 'No' or unable to provide narrative
    • Green: All questions answered 'Yes'

    Question Sets

    A number of questions have changed from last year. There are 93 questions divided into 12 sections, within each section are areas to note any comments and/or actions that are required and the final section is for you to provide a RAG assessment of your performance. 

    Date Range Covered

    Unless stated otherwise the data, information and RAG assessments should relate to the period 1st September 2020 to 31st August 2021.
