What does a Covid-19 Community Vaccine Champion do?

  • Raises conversations about Covid-19 safety and Covid-19 vaccinations
  • Supports people in their communities to make informed decisions about Covid-19 vaccines
  • Signposts people to appropriate professional help, advice and services

What is Covid-19 Community Vaccine Champion training?
Delivered over 1.5 hours, this online course aims to provide you:

  • With an understanding of how the Covid-19 vaccines work
  • With an understanding of how to make the most out of everyday interactions with others to champion health and wellbeing
  • Confidence to have conversations with others about Covid-19 vaccines
  • The skills to support a person in making their decision about whether or not to take the Covid-19 vaccine
  • Knowledge about local services and resources to signpost people to, either for more information on the vaccine or to get the vaccine

 Training format

  • Online event: 1.5 hours in duration
  • The training will include taught sessions and interactive break-out sessions

Everyone who completes the course gets:

  • A certificate of attendance to say you are a Covid-19 Community Vaccine Champion
  • Employers will also be financially reimbursed for releasing staff to attend the training

Partnerships

This training opportunity is funded by the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities in partnership with Croydon Council. The aim is to train 500 frontline workers and businesses to become Covid-19 vaccine champions. The Covid-19 vaccine champions will play a vital role in keeping Croydon safe as we learn to live with Covid-19.  Businesses that participate and release staff for training will be financially reimbursed for their staff’s time.
