Improving bus routes and cycle lanes through Croydon town centre

As part of our improvements to High Street, Croydon, we are making changes to the road layouts to make it safer for pedestrians and cyclists, reduce bus journey times and improve access for local businesses and residents.

Changes include:

  • Improving the traffic flow by introducing one-way systems to create better bus routing and cycle lanes through the town centre

  • Road safety improvements with a new crossing at Robert Street and moving the existing zebra crossing to the end of Katharine Street at the corner of The Spread Eagle Pub

  • Improving the pedestrianised area of the High Street, by levelling the pavements and removing the gates.
